Kaylee's birth story!

Every year my mother in law is in charge of a huge Valentines day dance for the church which consumes basically her whole life for a few months. She goes all out in planning the whole thing. My sister in law had told me after we found out that I was pregnant that she wanted to give me a shower. Well while we were trying to figure out what date would be ok, Cheryl informed us that we couldn't have the shower until after the dance. We both figured that would be ok because I wasn't due for almost a month after the dance.
Well the dance came and gone with the showers just a few days after. Alexis (my sister in law) gave me an awesome shower. I got a bunch of clothes, more than I know what to do with. That Friday my mom and me went to Target and Baby's R us to get some few last minute things that I would need and to organize the nursery. After a few hours of shopping and organizing, we all ended up going to dinner that night. Both of my parents at some point that day had said that I looked like I had dropped. Since I never got that big, it was pretty hard for me to notice it on myself.
The next day I had to work. It started out as any day normally does slow and uneventful. It was just May and me working till Sasha was to get there around 12:00 when I was to go on lunch. When Sasha got there I went in the back to wait for her to clock in so that I could go on lunch. We were in the middle of talking when it felt like I had peed my pants. So I told her I would be right back and ran to the bathroom to see if I really had peed my pants or if my water had broke. When I got to the bathroom my pants didn't smell like urine, but just to make sure I wasn't making a big deal out of nothing I called Alexis. She just happens to be a delivery nurse. After I got back to work she said to cough. I coughed and a whole bunch of liquid came out. She informed me that my water and to go to the hospital right away.
So right away I tried calling Tannar to let him know what was going on. Of course he doesn't answer, so in the mean time I was just going to drive to the hospital since it wasn't to far away and I wasn't in pain yet. At that point my manager wouldn't let me leave unless someone came and got me for I left in a ambulance. I kept trying to get a hold of Tannar who wouldn't answer any phone that I called. My next option was to call my dad,who actually ended up being 70 miles out of town. I ended up getting Tannar's two younger sisters to take me. During this whole time while Im headed to the hospital everyone is trying to get Tannar to wake up.
Dane (Tannar's cousin), Trevan (Alexis's husband), and Bobby (Tannar's uncle) all went over to our house and were making all kinds of noise to wake Tannar up. I should probably explain why he was sleeping before I get to far. Tannar works the graveyard shift, and he had just went to bed right before everyone was trying to get a hold of him. Bobby ended up having to take his unmarked car and turn on the sirens to try and wake him up. When that didn't work, Dane ended up throwing rocks at our bedroom window, which woke him up finally! Tannar didn't realize what was going on till he was driving to come meet me.
When I got to the hospital they put me on some medicine to start having contractions. I lasted as long as I could before getting an epidural. That in its self is a really weird feeling.
Finally at 8:16 pm Kaylee was born. She was 5lb 14oz. and 18 1/2 in long. When they were cleaning her up she wasn't breathing very good on her own, so they had to take her to the NICU for about a day before she could go home.

Later the next day she was able to breath on her own good enough, so they allowed her to leave the NICU. We ended up spending 2 1/2 days at the hospital. Once they had done enough tests on Kaylee and passed them, then we got to take her home with us.

Little update!

So a bunch of stuff has happened since the last time we posted something. A couple months before June we decided that we were going to try for a baby after our one year anniversary. I wanted go to Disneyland one more time just us before we had any kids. So we ended up going Disneyland with our friends a few weeks before our one year. We had a blast going, and surprisingly it wasn't that busy for being almost summer time vacations.
Tannar's family have a tradition that his parents take the married couples out for their anniversary's to a restaurant of their choice. Tannar has never been a one for eating anything fish, but since we started dating he has broadened his taste buds a bit. I was kind of surprised that he was up for eating at Red Lobster.
July was a exciting month for us. Not only was it my birthday month, but on July 4th we found out that we were going to be expecting a baby sometime in 2011. One of the first people I told was our good friend Jessica, then later that day we decided to surprise our families. My mom didn't really believe us because for months I wasn't sure how long it would take me to get pregnant. Little did I know that we probably got pregnant while we were at Disneyland....now I know why its called the happiest place on earth, lol. I hadn't even been off the pill for a month before I got pregnant. So it wasn't until later that night did it finally set in for her that I really was pregnant. Tannar and I ended up celebrating by watching the 4th of July fireworks with our friends.
In August we had alot of family events going on. At the beginning of the month we found out that our bundle of joy was going to be here on March 8th. The second we of August we had the annual Schmidt family beach vacation. This year it was alot colder than last year. Last year when we went it was about a month after we had gotten married and ended up sleeping the in family room with everyone walking around us. This time we got alot smarter and ended up sleeping on the balcony which was an awesome experience. The only bad thing about it was that our nieces and nephews all wanted to play on our bed while watching everyone at the beach. The result of this was a bed full of sand everyday. Other than that, we had a great time. Next year will be even better cause our daughter will be with us. Later that month we had a family get together with my side of the family in Southern California. Spent a few days there. We ended up going to the zoo with my parents before Tan and my dad headed home for work. Mom and I stayed a few more days to spend with my aunt and uncle. We all had a great time.
September was uneventful. October we had our annual family deer hunting trip and once again came home with no deer in tail. November came with Thanksgiving with my cousins from California coming in for a surprise visit. And that pretty much wraps up our events from the last few months. More to come later on.

Family Pictures and NFR

So me and Tannar have tons of wedding pictures all through our house but no fun just regular out and about pictures. So I asked my cousins wife Lynette to take some pictures of us and our child. No we didn't have a baby, our dog molly just tends to act like our kid. That would include climbing into our bed with us, crying when we aren't giving her enough attention, and getting into everything in her reach like a two year old. So I wanted some pictures of us wearing our cowboy boots, so Lynette suggested Neilsons Landing. The pictures turned out awesome! We ended up giving both of our parents a framed picture to go with their other Christmas gifts. My mom is a real sucker for pictures!

So this is our dog Molly. She is mostly boxer.

This is one of my most favorite ones and actually ended up
being the one we gave our parents.

Our little family so far....minus the cat.

So I'm a little behind on the whole blogging thing.....Just getting the hang of it. In the first part of December me and my friend Michaela decided that we wanted to go to Cowboy Christmas for the first time. It's over at the convention center and comes every year when the NFR comes to town. The first time I said NFR I had to explain it to Tannar that it means...National Finals Rodeo. I basically grew up going to the rodeo every year in St. George, but I'm pretty sure that he has never gone. So we go to Cowboy Christmas and they have everything that you can think of when it comes to things realated western! Plus they even had a both to buy and sell your NFR tickets. These tickets are usually hard to come by. Last year I had looked them up and they were selling for over a $100 for nose bleed seats. Well long story short, we ended up buying three tickets for only $50 each! So Tannar, Michaela, and me all went one night was the funnest time ever. Tannar actually enjoyed it too!

Our wedding and HONEYMOON!

So me and Tannar got married June 27th 2009 in the St. George UT Temple. Since we were getting married at ten that morning and I still needed to have my hair done before then and drive there, We ended up driving down the night before and stayed at a friends house. Tannar and his cousin Dane also drove down that night. We went out to dinner with my family and then went straight to bed. The next day Alexis and his mom did my hair and makeup. Got to the temple a little late and forgot to grab Tan's ring in the truck. After the ceremony we had a luncheon for everyone that came to the wedding. We got done around 2 and still had to drive home. We had our reception at Michaela Hill's backyard who was also one of my brides maids. The reception was awesome! As we were leaving the reception I came down with a migraine and Tannar had to take out the hundreds of bobby pins out of my hair. The next morning we drove to Cali and had two wonderful days at Disneyland! We even got "Just Married" pins to wear
